WELCOME TO ILANGA. LUXURY HOLIDAY RENTAL IN THE HEART OF NELSON BAY
Welcome to ilanga !
1. Arriving at ilanga
The address of ilanga is 33/61 Donald Street, Nelson Bay. The building is called “Cote D’Azur”.
For check-in during normal office hours, the Cote D'Azur reception is to the right of the car park entrance and, unless otherwise instrutcted, this is where you need to go in order to check-in at ilanga.
In the case of a check-in outside of normal office hours, you will receive a separate email or sms with instructions on what to do once you arrive at the Cote D'Azur building.
The reception contact number is 02 4984 9595 during office hours or 0447 424 694 after hours.
Office hours : 9.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Friday
9.30am – 12.30pm Saturday
If you don't have any success with either of the numbers above, please call Ivan on 0412 435 763.
If you arrive at ilanga by car, you will need the security fob which will be given to you after check in to open the garage doors. Then proceed about 50m into the garage and take a left turn up the ramp. Follow the driveway until you can’t go any further. The two parking spots allocated to ilanga, apartment 33, will be on your left .
The elevator is within meters of the car spot. Use the keypad to enter the security code provided to you when you checked in. This will take you to the 6th floor of the building. ilanga is apartment 33, to the left.
Note that for your convenience, you only need to unlock the TOP lock on the front door and then push to get into the apartment.
If you arrive at ilanga on foot, you need to use the entrance between the postboxes on Donald St. Use the security fob to open the sliding doors.
You then have a choice between walking through the door into the garage area and following the same path to ilanga as you would in a car, or walking up the stairs.
Walking through the garage is very useful if you have a shopping trolley or, for example, bicycles or other heavy items that you want to store in the storage cage. You also avoid the stairs.
If you use the stairs, proceed through the glass door and follow the path up a second flight of steps and then turn right towards the foyer. Use your security fob to get through the glass doors and then proceed to the elevator.
The elevator security code to get to ilanga will be provided to you when you check in.
When leaving the apartment, remember that the garage and storage cage are on level 1 and the foyer is on level 2.
Don't forget your keys !
If you are leaving the building by car, you will need the security fob to open the gates.
Touch the fob on the pad attached to the KEYS box on the right of the driveway.
2. Storage cage
The storage cage allocated to ilanga is the cage right next to the car spots, it's the one furthest from the elevator.
The code for the lock will be given to you by Cote D'Azur reception staff upon request.
3. Wifi
The WiFi login information can be found written on the WiFi device itself or in the ilanga "welcome" document that you will find in the apartment. The device can be found next to the small black desk in the living room.
4. Swimming pool, sauna and gym
The hours of operation are 8am to 8pm daily for the pool.
The gym and sauna are open 24 x 7.
The Sauna and Gym can be found by turning right when exiting the level 2 foyer.
5. Whoops !!!
Accidents happen. The most important thing to do is you have a spill is not to panic. Stains from spills, particularly, can almost always be removed completely if you do the right thing after the spill.
If it happens to you, simply place a wet white towel or cloth over the spill and call or sms Dave at Nu Look Cleaning, Nelson Bay. His number is 0411 861 137. He will advise you on what to do next and will arrange to pop over and do a professional stain removal if necessary.
Alternatively, please call the Cote D'Azur reception staff to get some advice.
6. Outdoor lights and power
The deck lighting comes on automatically each evening at around sunset.
The outdoor wall spotlights can be turned on from the switch above the little black table in the living area and from the switch in bedroom two.
The BBQ lights as well as the lights under the shade sails can be switched on from the right side of the BBQ cabinet
There are also a couple of power points available there too.
7. BBQ
**The BBQ is temporarily not available as we are unable to find anyone willing to clean it between guests**
Use the BBQ with pleasure.
However :
- Please do not let the BBQ heat up to a temperature greater than 250 degrees with the hood closed or serious damage can be done to the BBQ. As the temperature nears 250 degrees, turn down and/or turn off one or more of the burners.
- Please clean the BBQ after use. There is a full cleaning kit in one of the cupboards under the BBQ. To assist in the cleaning process, we suggest turning all burners on HIGH with the lid open for 5 minutes. Then turn the burners off and wait another 5 minutes before using the steel brush provided in the cleaning kit to clean the grills
- Please put the cover back on the BBQ after use
- Please inform the Cote D'Azur reception staff if the gas canister runs empty. There is always a spare one either in the cabinet under the BBQ or in the storage cage near your car spot.
For more information on how to use the BBQ, please see here
There is also an electronic “ThermoPro” remote food thermometer in the kitchen cupboard next to the oven for your use
You can use this handy device to help you cook the perfect piece of meat, poultry or fish
Instructions on how to use can be found here
8. Outdoor cushions
Please put the outdoor cushions back in the storage box after use. Especially if rain or high wind is forecast or expected. This will keep them in the best possible condition for the next guest. Never store them away in the box if they are already wet. Rather bring them into the apartment and let them dry out on the tiled floors or leave them in the sun to dry with the zip open. Your help with this is really appreciated.
9. Appliances in the apartment
Detailed as well as summary instructions on how to use all the appliances at ilanga can be found here.
You will also notice that many appliances have a "QR Code" attached to them.
If you have a newer model mobile phone, you can simply scan this code by opening your camera app and pointing it at the code. You will usually get a little pop up alert asking you to confirm you want to proceed to the site. Once you confirm, the relevant web page will open for you.
10. Garbage
Garbage can be disposed of in the garbage room just next to the car spaces on level 1.
11. Emergency Numbers
We hope you won't need them, but if you do here are some numbers just in case :
